Countfie
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Short version: your countdowns stay on your iPhone. There is no account. We use anonymous usage analytics to improve the app, and you can turn them off. No ads, no tracking across apps, no selling data.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of personal data processed in connection with the Countfie app and this website is Natalia Tomala, Warsaw, Poland (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@dashfie.com.
2. What stays on your device
Your countdowns (names, dates and times, notes, colors, shapes, widget styles) and any photo you choose as a widget background are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage shared with its widgets (an iOS App Group container). We do not upload this content to any server and we cannot see it. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Reminders (for example “one week to go”) are local notifications scheduled on your device. Countfie asks for notification permission only when you turn reminders on.
Countfie has no account and no login. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number in the app.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are made through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes your payment and Apple ID details under its own privacy policy; we never receive your card details or Apple ID.
To check whether you have Countfie Premium (subscription or one-time purchase), we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). RevenueCat processes App Store purchase receipts and transaction details (product, price, dates, country and currency) together with a random, anonymous app user ID generated by the app. We do not link this ID to your name or Apple ID.
Legal basis: performance of the contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
4. Anonymous product analytics
To understand which features are used and where the app breaks, we use PostHog with data hosted in the EU (PostHog EU Cloud). We collect app usage events (for example “countdown created”, “template picked” or “paywall viewed”), app opens, device model, iOS version, app version, language and a random anonymous identifier. Events contain only fixed choices, counts and yes/no values, such as which holiday template you picked. We do not collect the names, dates or notes you type, your photos, your location or your contacts, and we do not record your screen.
If analytics are on, the same anonymous identifier is passed to RevenueCat so subscription events (for example a started trial) can be matched to app usage.
You can turn analytics off at any time in the app under Settings › Share anonymous usage data. After you opt out, no further analytics events are sent from your device.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving and fixing the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by switching analytics off.
5. What we do not do
- No ads and no advertising SDKs.
- No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites (we do not use Apple’s IDFA).
- No selling or renting of data to anyone.
6. Who else processes data
- Apple: App Store, payments and app distribution (an independent controller for its services).
- RevenueCat, Inc.: purchase verification (our processor).
- PostHog: app analytics, EU hosting (our processor).
- Vercel: hosting of this website; it processes technical server logs such as IP address and browser type to deliver the pages.
Some providers are based in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, this happens on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
7. This website
countfie.com does not use cookies or analytics.
8. How long we keep data
- On-device content: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- Purchase records (RevenueCat): as long as needed to provide your purchase, and afterwards as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Analytics events: up to 24 months, then deleted or aggregated.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to handle your request, and up to 3 years after that.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to processing (including analytics), and data portability. Because we only hold anonymous identifiers, we may ask you for the identifier shown in the app to find your data. Write to support@dashfie.com. You can also complain to the Polish data protection authority (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, uodo.gov.pl) or the authority in your country.
10. Children
Countfie is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For important changes we will also tell you in the app.
